"Digital Health and Data-Driven Innovation in TB Response"

結核対策におけるデジタルヘルス/データイノベーションの最前線

Background

As the global tuberculosis (TB) response continues to make advances -- propelled by the historical United Nations High Level Meeting on TB (UNHLM on TB) in September 2018 -- innovations in utilizing digital technology and data across the entire TB response model are becoming increasingly needed. Digital health and data-driven innovation has great potential for building effective and sustainable health systems, including in access and delivery, and robust policy interventions, both which are critical for achieving universal health coverage (UHC).

Goal

The goal of the side event is to highlight the latest advances in digital health and data-driven innovation in the TB space, and to discuss how these solutions can contribute to developing and harnessing current and future innovations to not only optimize for better prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, cure and care, but also for improving access and delivery.

Points of Discussion

  • Potential opportunities and impact of the latest digital technology in the TB response, in terms of prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and care, and, including R&D, access, and delivery.
  • Application and versatility of digital technology used for TB response for UHC and HSS
  • Challenges in the implementation of the latest digital technologies in the TB response.
